The new Providence Classical School in Rock Hill began its inaugural school year Tuesday.

The school serves students in kindergarten through eighth grade and meets at College Park Baptist Church, 1168 Cherry Road. Officials plan to add a new grade each year.

Providence Classical School is supported by the Christian Latin School Association.

“There are no schools like PCS in our area,” said Marcie Davis, head of the school. “With academic excellence and affordable tuition, we are excited to provide a new option for families in our community.”
