47 schools in York, Chester, Lancaster counties win Palmetto Gold, Silver awards

Forty-seven schools in York, Chester and Lancaster counties made the list as 2014-15 Palmetto Gold and Silver award winners, the state Department of Education said Tuesday.

“I am pleased that so many schools are being recognized for their excellent performance and closing the achievement gap,” state Education Superintendent Molly Spearman said. “These awards are well-deserved and indicate the great strides administrators, principals, teachers, and students are making across the state.”

Palmetto Gold and Silver winners from York, Chester and Lancaster counties are:

Rock Hill

▪ Award for General Performance:

Northwestern High, gold; Dutchman Creek Middle, gold; India Hook Elementary, gold; Mount Gallant Elementary, gold; Rosewood Elementary, silver; Sunset Park Elementary, gold; Applied Technology Center, gold.

▪ Award for Closing the Achievement Gap:

Dutchman Creek Middle, silver; Rosewood Elementary, silver.

Fort Mill

▪ Award for General Performance:
