Fort Mill High mock trial team raising money for nationals
The Fort Mill High School mock trial team is accepting donations for its May trip to the national mock trial competition in Boise, Idaho.
The cost for the team to attend will be about $16,000, teacher and coach Beverly DeMayo said. The S.C. Bar Association, which sponsors the state competition, has provided $9,000, but the team is looking to raise the remaining $7,000.
Fort Mill High School, area law firms and local businesses and individuals have given donations.
The team competed against a dozen other high school teams to win the state competition earlier this month.
Donations can be paid to the school, to the attention of Beverly DeMayo. Mail to Fort Mill High School mock trial club, 215 N. U.S. 21 Bypass, Fort Mill, SC 29715, attention Beverly DeMayo.
