Few choices in York, Chester, Lancaster school board races
Voters will have a choice for fewer than half of the 20 school board seats in York, Chester and Lancaster counties up for election in November.
The filing period for candidates ended Monday.
Only nine of the 20 seats on the Nov. 8 ballot are contested. Among 13 incumbents seeking re-election, seven do not face opposition. In one school district, York, none of the four seats are contested.
The seats up for election, and candidates who have filed with York, Chester and Lancaster county elections offices, are:
Rock Hill
At-large: Terry Hutchinson (incumbent) and Tyrie K. Rowell
Seat 1: Elizabeth Ann Reid (incumbent)
Seat 3: Mildred B. Douglas (incumbent)
Seat 5: Windy Cole and Hank Hammond
Fort Mill
At-large: (3 seats) Tom Audette (incumbent), Terrin Boddie, Don Elliott, Scott Frattaroli, Pam Martin (incumbent), Chad Meyer and Kristy Thames Spears
York
At-large: Chris Stephenson (incumbent)
Seat 1: Maria Duncan
Seat 3: Chris Revels (incumbent)
Seat 5: Austin Dawkins
Clover
At-large: Jessica Cominsky Cody and Jay Young

By mail, fax or email
Download a voter registration form, complete it, and return it to your county board of voter registration by mail, fax, or email. Mail-in applications must be postmarked by the deadline.
In person
Go to your county board of voter registration office. Go to scvotes.org to find your local office.
