Love Girl Scout cookies? You may want to start trying to find them soon
Girl Scout cookie fans, rejoice! Cookie-selling season is in full swing in parts of the country.
Here’s how to get your hands on a fresh box of Thin Mints.
When
Selling periods are different for councils all throughout the country, though typically run between six and eight weeks, the organization says.
Some councils — like in San Jacinto, California — may have shorter selling periods than last year, so contact your local council to make sure you don’t miss out.
Type in your ZIP Code here to find your local council’s contact information.
Online
In an effort to keep the girls at the center of the cookie-selling season, you can buy cookies online from girls using the Digital Cookie platform, the organization says on its website.
Depending on the council in your area, girls could be selling using a personalized website, app, e-card or direct link.
“If you know a Girl Scout, tell her you’re interested in becoming a Digital Cookie customer—and she’ll take it from there!” the organization says
Booths
If you favor the good, ol’ fashioned cookie buying experience, you’re in luck!
You can use the organization’s “Find Cookies!” online tool to track down booths near you, the organization says on its website. The Girl Scout Cookie Finder App will also help you find cookies in your community when you’re on the go.
What’s New
This year, the organization has refreshed its packaging with new images that exemplify the essence of the Girl Scouts organization, according to the website.
Some Girl Scouts may also be selling a new cookie: Lemon-Ups. They’re described as “crispy, lemon cookies baked with motivational messages,” the organization says.
Why buy?
Purchasing Girl Scout cookies is an investment in the girls themselves, the organization says.
Money from the sales can help fund trips, activities and community projects all while helping girls develop essential life skills including goal setting, decision making and money management, according to the website.
