How to get a dog to swallow a pill? TikTok couple’s hack with goldendoodle goes viral
A couple on TikTok went viral for a medicine hack by feeding their goldendoodle’s bad behavior — literally.
Daisy, a goldendoodle known on TikTok as @thedaisydoodlegirl, has to take medicine for the rest of her life, her owners explained in a video.
In their viral video, the couple pretends to cook in the kitchen and “accidentally” drop a chunk of food (with a pill inside) on the ground.
Daisy rushes over to eat the fallen food without a second thought.
Some viewers had concerns that it taught dogs to eat anything off the floor, but her owners shared that in their home, it worked better than the stress of pinning Daisy down to give medicine multiple times a day.
“We just got tired of shoving pills down her throat since she gets them twice a day for the rest of her life, so we just decided to capitalize on the bad behavior,” her owners joked.
The video has gotten over 3 million views.
“Genius,” one vet tech commented. “I’m going to suggest this to owners at our clinic.”
“She has to be convinced she’s committing a crime to take her pill?” someone asked. “That’s hysterical.”
