Forget the bars — TikToker spends Friday night living it up in Costco. People love it
A TikToker was figuring out plans for his Friday night in California when the group he was with decided they wanted to stay in.
That was, until someone suggested an alternative night out — a trip to Costco.
Daniel Bennett, a 26-year-old Los Angeles resident, according to his LinkedIn profile, decided the move was to drink a little wine before heading to the “happiest place on earth,” according to his TikTok post on June 3.
“We don’t need anything but we’re just going to go,” Bennett says in the video captioned “New Friday Activity Unlocked.”
The video shows Bennett heading to Costco with his buddies after drinking some wine.
Although he makes sure to let the viewers know he had only two glasses, he says his first mistake is not bringing a list with him.
Bennett and his friends wander through the store and even make their way through the “danger zone,” what most membership holders know as the wine aisle.
“I mean do you think I need 6 pounds of meat?” Bennett asks his friend as they peruse the bulk items Costco offers.
In the video, the group calculates how much they’d likely have spent at a bar instead.
At least $100 each was the consensus.
Bennett spent just shy of that with an $85 tab but was able to walk away with groceries instead of a raging hangover the next morning.
Commenters agreed hitting Costco might just be the new Friday night game plan, with someone saying, “Wine and Costco hot dogs on a Friday night sounds like my kind of good time.”
One said, “This is an elite adult activity.”
Another added, “THESE ARE MY PEOPLE.”
“I’m going back next Friday,” Bennett joked in the comments of his video.
Or maybe he wasn’t joking.
