A father and three children were fishing on a Pennsylvania pond when their boat capsized, authorities said.

Two of the children safely swam to shore, but the dad and one boy drowned in the water, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

Troopers with Pennsylvania State Police Lamar Station were called to the Logan Township pond just before 9 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 19.

Authorities said the dad and child who drowned were both of Loganton.

The state agency did not publicly identify the drowning victims or provide their ages.

It is unclear what caused the boat to capsize.

Logan Township, in Clinton County, is about 190 miles northwest of Philadelphia.
