Arby’s brings back ‘cherished menu item’ not seen in 3 years. When can you get it?
An Arby’s fan favorite was missing from menus for three years. Now it’s back, but customers will have to act fast.
The “beloved” potato cakes returned Monday, July 1, to participating Arby’s locations nationwide for a limited time, according to the sandwich chain.
The side item, made with shredded potatoes “fried to a crispy golden brown,” was last offered in 2021 before disappearing from menus, the restaurant said in a news release.
The move spurred multiple online petitions from potato lovers over the years begging for Arby’s to bring them back.
“Now, we’re bringing back Potato Cakes, one of our most requested and most beloved items, to celebrate the true love, passion, and devotion our guests show for them day in and day out,” Rita Patel, Arby’s brand president, said in the release.
The ”cherished menu item” will rejoin Arby’s lineup of side items, including its popular curly fries, mozzarella sticks and jalapeno poppers.
News of their return sparked joyous reactions from fans who shared their excitement online.
Potato cakes cost $2.39 (plus tax) for a three-count, according to Arby’s. The crispy snack won’t stick around, though Arby’s did not say when it will leave menus again.
