Hikers found an unconscious 80-year-old on a trail in a Colorado national park and gave her CPR until help arrived, rangers said.

They discovered her about 5 miles — just under halfway through from the Lawn Lake trailhead in Rocky Mountain National Park on Monday, July 15, and “provided life-saving care” until search and rescue arrived and evacuated her, according to a news release.

She had experienced a “cardiac incident” on the trail, rangers said.

Search and rescue evacuated her from the trail by hoisting her from a helicopter, then transferred her to an air ambulance, rangers said.

Information about her condition was not available.

At 12.5 miles out and back, Lawn Lake Trail is generally considered a challenging route, according to AllTrails. It takes about five or six hours to hike, according to the National Park Service.
