Camera captures masked man sneak up on woman before brutal attack, Pennsylvania cops say
Police are searching for a masked figure seen sneaking up on a woman before a brutal attack at a Philadelphia apartment building, according to Pennsylvania police.
In surveillance camera video shared Aug. 6 by the Philadelphia Police Department, a woman is seen walking down a hallway with a purse on one arm and her phone in the other, seemingly unaware of the man closing in on her from behind.
Suddenly he grabs her and forces her down the hallway, past several doors, before turning a corner, video shows. What we don’t see, according to police, is the man pulling her into an empty room and beating her unconscious.
The camera captures him again after the attack, leaving with the woman’s belongings.
It’s not clear how long the woman was knocked out after being robbed, but police said she was discovered by an employee who called 911.
The attack happened at 4:40 p.m. July 22 at the Alden Park Luxury Apartments on the city’s northwest side.
Anyone with information about the crime or the man’s identity is asked to contact investigators at 215-686-3353, or submit a tip to 215-686-8477.
