Substitute teacher has molested boys since 2015, CA officials say. More victims sought
A man who has worked in multiple schools as a teacher’s aide and substitute teacher is facing prison time after being accused of molesting two boys, California officials said.
Andrew Louie Sandoval, 27, is accused of molesting two boys between the ages of 4 and 9 since 2015, according to an Aug. 6 news release by the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.
The district attorney did not specify where Sandoval has worked but “once that list of schools and childcare facilities has been verified, it will be shared with the public,” the release said.
After reviewing Sandoval’s electronic devices, officers found “hundreds of child pornography images,” officials said.
Sandoval was arrested in July and officials believe there may be more victims, according to a July 30 Facebook post by the City of South Gate Police Department. Prosecutors did not specify how Sandoval knew the victims or if they attended the schools he worked for.
He has been charged with lewd acts upon a child under age 14, sodomy with a child 10 years old or younger, oral copulation with a child 10 years or younger and possession of over 600 images of child or youth porn, prosecutors said.
If convicted, he faces a maximum sentence of life in prison, officials said.
Anyone with information is asked to call 323-563-5436, officers said.
