Big ‘chill’ pup is returned to NV shelter for being ‘too boring.’ Now he needs a home

Nevada may have a new favorite couch potato. But, he’s in a predicament.

Duke, a “chill” 87-pound dog, loves his naps and was “too boring,” which unfortunately was not what his adoptive family was expecting when they brought him home, according to a Las Vegas animal shelter.

Too many slumbers later, the family returned him to the shelter, The Animal Foundation explained in an Aug. 7 Facebook post.

The family said Duke was “boring, sleeps all day, and doesn’t get up and greet them when they get home,” according to the shelter.

Now, this adorable slacker is looking for a home again.

“We’re confident that there’s plenty of people who would vibe with 4-year-old Duke’s lack of energy,” the shelter said.

Anyone in a “soft” era of life may be better suited to welcome Duke home than someone looking for a vigorous, highly athletic dog.

Duke is smart, likely potty trained and does well on a leash. On Aug. 7, Duke was moved to a foster home to await adoption.
