An Ohio woman was followed into the restroom of a home decor store and then attacked, authorities said.

The 60-year-old woman was shopping in At Home in Mill Run Sept. 20 with her family when she was attacked by a man she didn’t know, according to a Sept. 25 news release from the Hilliard Division of Police.

Mohamed Djamil Camara, 26, of Columbus was arrested on a kidnapping charge, police said.

McClatchy News reached out to Camara’s attorney Sept. 26 for comment but did not immediately hear back.

Cameras captured Camara following the woman around the store before the attack, The Columbus Dispatch reported citing court records.

In the bathroom, police said Camara tried to strangle the woman and told her to be quiet, the outlet reported.

The woman “fought back hard” and “loudly called for help,” getting the attention of her family who called 911, authorities said.

The woman’s husband restrained Camara until police arrived, WBNS and The Columbus Dispatch reported.

Police said the woman had bruises on her face and arms and a broken blood vessel in her eye, WBNS reported.

Camara is being held at Franklin County Jail on a $250,085 bond, court records show.

He is due back in court Sept. 30 for a preliminary hearing.

Mill Run is a suburb of Columbus.
