Man stabs his mom to death, then walks into Wendy’s covered in blood, Texas cops say
A Texas man is accused of fatally stabbing his mother, then walking into a Wendy’s while still covered in blood, police say.
Texas City police responded to a 911 call from a Wendy’s on the city’s west side at about 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 9, after a man entered the restaurant with bloody wounds on his arms, the department said in an Oct. 10 news release.
When officers arrived and spoke with the man, 30-year-old Johnathan Taylor, he told them he’d just been robbed, according to police.
However, Taylor eventually said he attacked his 68-year-old mom, Regina McIntyre, at his home nearby, according to authorities. Officers went there and found McIntyre on the kitchen floor. She had been stabbed multiple times, police said.
She was flown to a hospital in Galveston for treatment, but reportedly died from her injuries at about 10:15 p.m.
Taylor was booked into the Galveston County Jail after being treated for his wounds, which police determined were stab wounds. He is charged with murder, police said, and his bond is set at $500,000.
Texas City is roughly 40 miles southeast from Houston.
