A man was shot when he forced himself into his neighbor’s home and threatened to kill him, Texas police said.

The man, believed to be intoxicated, knocked on his older neighbor’s door and accused him of calling the police on him, Houston police Lt. J.P. Horelica said in a video posted by KHOU.

He then forced his way into his neighbor’s home in the early hours of Oct. 15, threatening to kill him, police said. The neighbor grabbed a gun and shot at the accused intruder, striking him twice, Horelica said.

The neighbor did not call the police on the man, Horelica said.

The accused intruder was taken to the hospital, police said, and his condition is unknown.

Horelica said the neighbor that was shot is likely to face charges. He added that any remaining charges would be determined by a grand jury.
