A speeding car flew into a home while a couple was inside, California officials told news outlets.

Around 12:23 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 12, Chino Valley Fire officials got a call about a car on a house, according to CBS.

The homeowners were sleeping during the time of the crash, according to KABC.

“It sounded like a plane drove through our house... It’s just devastating,” the homeowner told the outlet.

Police believe the car slammed into the home after going through the chain-link fence and soaring over the canal, FOX 11 reported.

The four passengers inside the car survived and were taken to the hospital in serious condition, CBS reported.

The car was found “resting on a patio overhang” after it “crashed through a window, leaving a gaping hole on the side of the house,” according to CBS.

The cause of the crash reportedly remains under investigation.

Chino is about a 40-mile drive east of Los Angeles.
