Minor crash leads to deadly shooting of 26-year-old outside pizza shop, PA cops say
A minor crash sparked a fight inside of a pizza shop where a 26-year-old man was shot and killed, Pennsylvania police and news outlets said.
It was around midnight on Nov. 21 when the two got into a crash that could have stemmed from road rage, Philadelphia police told CBS.
Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector Scott Small said the Pete’s Pizza on the north side of the city got video recordings of the shooting that showed the two pulling over outside of the pizza shop when they got into a fender bender, WCAU reported.
McClatchy News reached out to Pete’s Pizza and is awaiting a response.
The two started to argue and continued into the pizza shop when one of the men pulled out a gun and shot the 26-year-old in the head, police told WPVI. The identity of the man who died has not been publicly released.
The suspected shooter fled the pizza shop, police told McClatchy News. Police are searching for the man.
When officers arrived, the man was bleeding on the floor of the pizza shop’s takeout area, according to police and WCAU.
This is the second deadly shooting at the business in recent months, according to WPVI. A pizza delivery driver was killed in June as he was returning from a delivery, according to police and WPVI.
