A south Georgia man was charged with murder in a double shooting that left his wife and their adult daughter dead, state investigators said.

The bodies of Tamiko Mobley, 48, and her daughter Tiaja Mobley, 25, were found Nov. 29 inside the younger Mobley’s home in Quitman, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.

Both women had been shot, and the Brooks County Sheriff’s Office asked the GBI to investigate.

A man, who wasn’t named, was also shot at and “hit by debris” in the incident but is expected to recover, the agency said in a Dec. 2 news release.

Agents said Tamiko Mobley didn’t live at the home but was staying with her daughter after an argument with her husband, 44-year-old Wilbert Mobley Jr., the previous night.

Investigators didn’t describe the nature of the dispute or what led to the shooting.

McClatchy News reached out to the GBI for more information Dec. 3 and was awaiting a response.

Wilbert Mobley Jr. was arrested on two counts of felony murder, two counts of malice murder, three counts of aggravated assault and three counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, the GBI said.

Agents didn’t release additional details but said the investigation is ongoing.

Quitman is about a 60-mile drive northeast from Tallahassee, Florida.
