Man travels from Florida to Utah to meet 7-year-old for sex acts at hotel, feds say
A 56-year-old man is going to prison after being accused of planning to molest a 7-year-old “child” in Utah, federal officials said.
In January 2024, Glenn Raymond Breeden of Orlando, Florida, communicated with an officer who was posing as the father of a 7-year-old boy, according to court documents.
Breeden believed the father was sexually molesting the boy and so made arrangements to travel to Utah so he could also assault the child, officials said.
Breeden told the father to bring his son to his Salt Lake City hotel room, documents said.
That’s when Breeden opened the hotel room door, expecting the father and son, but was instead arrested, officials said.
In June 2024, Breeden pleaded guilty to coercion and enticement as well as attempted coercion and enticement, according to a Jan. 13 news release by the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
McClatchy News reached out to Breeden’s lawyer for a statement on Jan. 14 and was awaiting a response.
He was sentenced to 10 years in prison and a lifetime of supervised release, officials said.
