Right in time for the NFL playoffs, the family of one Philadelphia Eagles’ player is rejoicing over a win they never saw coming.

Months ago on Oct. 28, Tralee Hale-Ringo, the mom of Eagles cornerback Kelee Ringo, was at a Target store with her Shih Tzu named Molly, when the 10-year-old dog was swiped after Ringo went to the bathroom for a brief minute, she told NBC 10.

“I usually put her in the cart when I go and walk around the store but this particular day, we were just walking in, I was working with her, she does stay right by my heel,” Hale-Ringo told NBC. “She’s smarter than she is cute and I just got in the door and then quick had to use the restroom. Again, it’s never happened before.”

The dog was stolen after Molly didn’t clear the door when Hale-Ringo stepped into the bathroom, but it was nothing out of the ordinary since the pup would often just wait patiently for her mom.

A surveillance video was released by the Philadelphia police department showing four individuals who police believed stole the dog.

Hale-Ringo made a plea to the public by posting the video on her Instagram and told her story to numerous media outlets including NBC,CBS and Fox.

Hale-Ringo told CBS that it was members of the public who recognized a person on the video, which led the police to Molly, and Molly back into her mom’s arms on Jan. 13 in an emotional reunion video.

The Ringo family his hoping their luck streak continues when the Eagles host the Los Angeles Rams in the NFC divisional playoff round on Jan. 19. Philadelphia had beaten the Green Bay Packers in the NFC Wildcard game on Jan. 12 — just a day before Molly was brought home.
