Man sexually abuses child from ages 4 to 6 at home day care, California police say
A 28-year-old man was arrested after being accused of sexually abusing a child at a home-run day care, California officials said.
The victim, an 11-year-old, came forward and told officers that Ramon Castillo-Ruiz had sexually abused them on multiple occasions from the ages of 4 to 6, according to a Feb. 14 news release by the Watsonville Police Department.
Castillo-Ruiz lived in the home where the day care operated, police said.
Detectives and the Santa Cruz County Anti-Crime Team executed a search warrant at the day care on Feb. 13 and found guns and ammunition in Castillo-Ruiz’s room, officers said.
He was booked into the Santa Cruz County jail and charged with lewd and lascivious acts with a child under 14 and possession of a controlled substance, police said.
Officers believe there may be more victims and ask anyone with information to call 831-768-3358.
Watsonville is about a 90-mile drive southeast of San Francisco.
