A man vanished inside a rugged, remote national park in Colorado and has been missing for nearly two weeks, officials said.

Jordan Marsters, a 31-year-old from Denver, was traveling through Grand Junction on Feb. 11 and Montrose on Feb. 12, National Park Service officials said in a news release.

His last known location was in Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park on Feb. 13 at about 7:20 a.m., officials said.

Then he vanished — in the same park where a 19-year-old college student went missing and was found dead about a week later in November, McClatchy News previously reported.

Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park spans 31,000 acres of exceptionally rugged, remote terrain that surrounds part of a deep, steep-walled gorge carved into rock by the Gunnison River, McClatchy News reported. It’s about a 260-mile drive southwest from Denver.

Trails pass by views of the canyon’s dramatic drop-offs, so hikers must “be cautious,” according to the national park’s website. Drinking water is not available in the park from late fall through mid-spring.

Marsters was driving a white Kia Fuente rental car with Texas license plates “TXH4349” and was last seen wearing a tan jacket and a black hoodie, officials said.

He is about 5 foot 7 inches tall and has blonde hair and blue eyes.

Officials ask anyone with information or who was in contact with Marsters in the days leading up to Feb. 13 to contact Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park at 970-249-1914 ext. 436.
