Man trying to burn parked vehicle sets himself on fire, California firefighters say
A man caught on video setting fire to a parked vehicle also set himself ablaze, California firefighters reported.
Firefighters responded to the vehicle fire early Tuesday, March 4, the Corona Fire Department said in a news release. The blaze destroyed the vehicle and damaged the home.
A review of doorbell camera video showed an arsonist set the vehicle and then himself on fire, firefighters said.
The arsonist, described as a man in his 30s, between 5-foot-9 and 6-foot-1 in height, with a medium build and shoulder length, light-colored hair, fled in a white, newer Chevrolet or GMC pickup truck, firefighters said.
They ask anyone with information to contact fire investigator Travis Boan at travis.boan@coronaca.gov or 951-736-2219.
Corona is about a 45-mile drive southeast from downtown Los Angeles.
