Hikers find 19-year-old twins fatally shot at top of mountain, Georgia police say
UPDATE: The deaths of twin brothers found fatally shot at the top of a Georgia mountain in early March have been ruled a suicide-suicide, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation said in a May 21 update.
Qaadir Malik Lewis and Naazir Rahim Lewis, both 19, sustained injuries determined to be self inflicted, investigators said, citing autopsy results.
The findings have been shared with their family.
Hikers discovered the twins’ bodies on Bell Mountain in Hiawassee on March 8. Their deaths were initially believed to be a murder-suicide but were unconfirmed at the time.
Further investigation revealed one of the twins purchased ammunition for the gun, which was delivered to their home on March 5, the GBI said.
