Nonverbal 4-year-old found drowned in pond minutes after missing report, MO cops say

A missing 4-year-old boy was found unresponsive in a pond near his home, Missouri police said.

His parents reported the nonverbal child missing the night of March 18, Ballwin police said in a news release. Fifteen minutes later, officers found the boy in the pond.

He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said.

The boy was not identified, and police said no foul play was detected.

Police said they are continuing to investigate.

Ballwin is about a 20-mile drive west from St. Louis.
