Reports of a “person screaming” led authorities to a man who had been killed, Pennsylvania authorities say.

The Philadelphia Police Department said officers responded to the report around 7 a.m. March 19 in the Upper Roxborough neighborhood and found an unresponsive man “lying on a plastic sheet between two parked cars.”

The 38-year-old victim, Jordan Baxter, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. A gun was found on his chest.

Baxter reportedly worked 14 years for the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA).

“SEPTA is saddened by the tragic loss of Jordan Baxter, who was a veteran Regional Rail engineer. Our thoughts are with his loved ones at this difficult time,” a SEPTA spokesperson told KYW.

An investigation led officers to Baxter’s 39-year-old wife, Danielle Baxter, who is accused of killing him in an unknown manner.

Danielle Baxter was arrested March 20 and charged with murder, police said in a March 24 news release. Police did not offer a motive.

Co-workers remembered the victim as a dedicated worker and a “hell of a human being.”

“It’s a shame you’re not here anymore, you truly could light up a room,” Bill Rollin Jr. said in a Facebook post.

“One of the coolest, realest engineers I’ve ever met!” Leelee Muahz said on Facebook. “I’m hurt by this.”
