Wife sees husband floating in lake after fall from jet ski, AZ cops say. He died
A wife discovered her husband floating in a lake after falling off a jet ski rental in Arizona, deputies said.
Tejan Sesay, 43, was pronounced dead at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, April 20, at Lake Pleasant, the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.
The couple rented the jet ski at Scorpion Bay and experienced a “mechanical issue” as they made a U-turn, causing them to fall into the water, deputies told Fox 10 Phoenix.
Deputies said the wife found Sesay floating facedown in the water and couldn’t flip him over.
Another boat saw the two in the water, and those aboard performed life-saving measures on Sesay until deputies got to the scene and took over, authorities said.
Fire officials then pronounced him dead.
The husband and wife were both wearing life jackets at the time of the incident.
The woman was not injured, and officials are working to identify Sesay’s cause of death, deputies said.
Lake Pleasant is about a 45-mile drive northwest from Phoenix.
