Sea creature sighting off coast of California was ‘one for the books.’ See it
An “enormous splash” revealed a massive sea creature off the coast of California, and onlookers are calling the sight “one for the books.”
A group set sail during sunset and ended up getting “great looks” of harbor seals, according to a June 4 Facebook post by the San Diego Whale Watch.
As the whale watchers continued their sightseeing, they came across a pod of 30 long-beaked common dolphins before seeing an even bigger pod participating in a “feeding frenzy” that brought them to the star of the show: a “gorgeous” humpback whale, the group said.
They followed their new “friend” through a few breath cycles before it started “breaching continuously,” the group said.
It breached more than 30 times, making for an “incredible” moment, watchers said.
Although the group didn’t get to see much of the cotton candy skies the sunset could’ve brought them, watchers said the plethora of wildlife “more than made up for it.”
