A pregnant woman was taken to a hospital after being beaten at an elementary school, Pennsylvania police say.

According to Philadelphia police, officers responded to John Wister Elementary Mastery Charter School after 10 a.m. Monday, June 9, after a woman was attacked by another woman in a “dispute over seating arrangements.”

McClatchy News reached out to Mastery Charter School for comment but didn’t immediately hear back.

Both women were parents attending a kindergarten graduation at the school, WPVI reported.

Police say the woman repeatedly hit the pregnant 31-year-old in the head and slammed her into a wall.

The accused attacker left before officers arrived and is sought by police, according to the department.

The pregnant woman was taken by ambulance for treatment, officers said, though they didn’t comment on the severity of her injuries.

Anyone with information about the attack is asked to contact investigators at 215-685-3353, WCAU reported.
