Woman’s death was staged as suicide, IL officials say. Now, girlfriend sentenced
A woman got into an argument with her girlfriend, killed her and staged her death as a suicide, Illinois prosecutors said.
Now, 28-year-old Alexia Telles has been sentenced to 30 years in prison after pleading guilty to first-degree murder, the Kendall County State’s Attorney’s Office said in a July 14 news release.
Her attorney information was not provided.
Annissa Ellen-Williams was suffering from a severe head wound when she and Telles arrived at an Oswego home in February 2023, officials said. Life-saving measures were attempted, but she died, according to prosecutors.
Prosecutors said forensic and digital evidence, in addition to statements made to police, led them to determine Telles killed her girlfriend and staged it as a suicide.
Prosecutors didn’t say what started the argument or how the killing was carried out.
“… Only two people know exactly what occurred that fateful night,” Kendall County State’s Attorney Eric Weis said in a statement.
Telles was ordered to serve the entire 30 years in prison, then serve a three-year supervised release, according to prosecutors.
Oswego is about a 50-mile drive southwest from downtown Chicago.
