Son stabs mom, another man following a family dispute, California police say
A 32-year-old man stabbed his mother and another man following a family dispute, California police reported.
A neighbor of the woman told Fort Bragg police he’d just taken two stabbing victims to a hospital at about 11 p.m. Thursday, July 17, police said in a news release.
The two injured people initially told officers they were hurt in an ATV crash, but when officers pointed out discrepancies in their story, the man said they had been stabbed by the woman’s son, police said.
Danynes Cox-Pabo, 32 of Fort Bragg, attacked his mother following a dispute, then repeatedly stabbed the man when he tried to intervene, police said.
Officers found Cox-Pabo at about 1:45 a.m. Friday, July 19, and arrested him on charges of attempted homicide, assault with a deadly weapon, mayhem and robbery, police said.
Officers found a folding pocketknife on Cox-Pabo, who told them he stabbed his mother and the other man in self-defense when they attacked him, police said.
Police ask anyone with information to call 707-961-2800 ext. 226.
Fort Bragg is about a 170-mile drive northwest from San Francisco.
