A recreational therapist had to pinch himself after learning of his big lottery win, Maryland officials said.

The Prince George’s County man bought two $100,000 Crossword scratch-offs for $10 each at a liquor store in Temple Hills, according to a Sept. 23 news release by the Maryland Lottery.

The man had no idea he’d actually win the jackpot of $100,000, officials said.

He decided to scratch the tickets while at work and learned he was able to match 10 words on puzzles two and three, making his ticket a winner, officials said.

The man, who has been a recreational therapist for 25 years, plans to put the winnings toward his finances, officials said.

Temple Hills is about a 50-mile drive southwest from Baltimore.
