Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy is scheduled to hold a town hall gathering Monday at Winthrop University in Rock Hill, according to a news release from the school.

Ramaswamy’s campaign Web site shows the event is set for 2:30 p.m. to 4:15 p.m.

Winthrop officials said the town hall will take place in the DiGiorgio Campus Center’s Richardson Ballroom.

Ramaswamy is a business leader and author, according to his campaign Web site and a Winthrop release.

He has campaigned around the country and appeared in two recent Republican candidate debates with other contenders for the nomination.

Other candidates Nikki Haley and Ron DeSantis have made appearances in recent months in York and Lancaster counties.

South Carolina’s 2024 primary is the first in the South on Feb. 24.

Winthrop officials said for information about the event and ticket availability, go to:

Ramaswamy is the second presidential candidate to appear at Winthrop in 2023. Democrat Robert F. Kennedy Jr. had an event at Winthrop in September.
