What to know about election day coverage, and what it’s most important that you do

Well, Nov. 8 has arrived.

The range of emotions will range from trepidation to relief. I’m sure most of you will want to know the results as soon as possible.

First, you should know that results won’t be in Wednesday’s print edition. The polls close at 7 p.m. Tuesday. Our print deadline is hours before that.

So here’s how you can follow the election day activities throughout the evening, into the night and first thing in the morning.

Go to heraldonline.com.

We’re tracking national, state and local results with help from our sister publication -- The State -- in Columbia.

The Herald has published, over the past two week, answers to questions about issues relevant to this region, which we asked area candidates. We queried county commissioner candidates, school board candidates, and Congressional candidates. We asked about a controversial redistricting plan in Rock Hill, and we wrote about the proposed school bond in Clover.

You can read our articles and candidates’ answers by going to heraldonline.com. Then click on the ‘voter guide’ tab at the top of the page, right under the words “The Herald.”

There has been plenty broadcast and published about broader, more national issues. So we kept our focus on what’s closest to you. We even asked what issues motivated you to actually get to the poll to vote.

If you haven’t voted, here’s your opportunity for one last look. If you have we invite you to follow the action with us.

But most important of all, go vote.
