VP Kamala Harris returning to Charlotte for a post-debate event. What we know
Vice President Kamala Harris is headed back to Charlotte.
The Democratic presidential candidate will hold events in Charlotte and Greensboro Thursday to kick off a nationwide campaign swing following her first debate with former President Donald Trump, a Harris campaign official confirmed Sunday to The Charlotte Observer.

Harris and Trump will debate at 9 p.m. Tuesday night, moderated by ABC News anchors David Muir and Linsey Davis.
The “New Way Forward Tour” will launch in North Carolina Thursday and also include events in other battleground states featuring Harris, her running mate Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz and their spouses.
Both presidential hopefuls have put an emphasis on the Tar Heel State.
Trump visited Charlotte on Friday to accept an endorsement from the Fraternal Order of Police, and recently held rallies in Asheboro and Asheville. Harris has visited North Carolina eight times in 2024, and Walz was in Raleigh in late August for a political event and campaign reception.
Trump currently leads Harris by less than one percentage point in North Carolina, according to RealClearPolitics’ polling average.
