Who won school board seats in Rock Hill, Fort Mill, Clover and York? Here’s the latest

Results are in to determine which area school board candidates will claim seats across the Rock Hill region.

All totals from Tuesday night are unofficial, until vote counts are certified later in the week.

Half of the school board seats across the three-county Rock Hill region were up for election on Tuesday’s ballot. Voters in York, Lancaster County and Chester County also saw school bond referendum decisions.

Here are the latest results:

Rock Hill School District

Montrio Belton (60%) defeated Matt Hiers (40%) for Seat 1, with all precincts reporting.

James Burns (65%) defeated incumbent Mildred Douglas (34%) for Seat 3, with all precincts reporting.

Melissa Harris (49%) defeated incumbent Windy Cole (26%) and Corree Carelock (25%) for Seat 5, with all precincts reporting.

Jennifer Hutchinson (67%) defeated Fred Jordan (32%) for an at-large seat, with all precincts reporting.

Lacy Daniel (38%) defeated Kevin Thompson (32%) and incumbent Bryan McAlinden (30%) for an unexpired at-large seat, with all precincts reporting.

Fort Mill School District

Incumbents Anthony Boddie (19%), Scott Frattaroli (19%) and Kristy Spears (18%) defeated challengers Ellen Abramo (18%), Michelle Hoffman (16%) and Denise Casey (9%) in Fort Mill. That’s with all precincts reporting.

In Fort Mill, the top three candidates in votes will take seats on the seven-member board.

Clover School District

Kenda Cook (63%) defeated Nataly Burgio (37%) for Seat 4, with all precincts reported.

Incumbent Tracy Bell Stiff (54%) defeated Kevin Johnson (46%) for an at-large seat, with all precincts reported.

Incumbent Jessica Cody also ran for Seat 3 on Tuesday, unopposed.

York School District

Incumbent Chris Revels (73%) defeated Delandris Jones (27%) for Seat 3, with all precincts reporting.

Incumbents Wade Anderson (Seat 1) and Thomas Wilkerson (Seat 5) ran unopposed, as did newcomer Scott Childers (at-large).

Lancaster County School District

Olivia Hann won a three-way race for Dist. 6. Hann got nearly 44% of the vote. Keith Snipes got 37% and Jeanna Rathel-White got 19%. That’s with all precincts reporting.

Incumbent Tyrom Faulkner ran unopposed in Dist. 2. So did Revery Johnson in Dist. 4.

Chester County School District

Tara Thomas (62%) defeated Delores Ann Crockett (38%) in Dist. 1, with all precincts reported.

Brenda Fort (Dist. 2) and Nakia Houston White (Dist. 5) ran unopposed.

Voter turnout high for election

In York County, 53% of registered voters submitted their ballots before election day. Early and absentee votes were even higher in Lancaster County, at 54%. Chester County had 45% of its registered voters submit early or absentee ballots.

Overall voter turnout topped 79% in each of York, Lancaster and Chester counties.
