MCT

South Carolina’s primary day isn’t until Tuesday, but polls will be open Saturday for absentee voting at the York County Elections and Registration Office.

The elections office at 13 S. Congress St., York, will be open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday for absentee voting. Registered voters are eligible to vote absentee if they would be unable to make it to their precinct polling place on primary day on June 14.

Reasons could be physical disability; attending to someone who is sick or disabled; students and their dependents residing outside their county of residence; or working or going on vacation on primary day. Any registered voter 65 or older can also vote absentee.

Absentee ballots can also be cast in either the Democratic or Republican primaries during regular business hours from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays. Voters are asked to bring a form of photo ID to cast a ballot.
