A North Carolina-based biscuit restaurant was voted the nation’s best fast food breakfast and best regional fast food restaurant in the 2023 USA Today Readers’ Choice 10best contest.

Biscuitville, headquartered in Greensboro with more than 70 locations in North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia, topped the list in both categories.

“Biscuitville’s fresh-baked biscuits can be enjoyed a number of ways, from simple bacon, egg, and cheese or fried chicken biscuits to more elaborate breakfast sandwiches like their Spicy Chicken & Jalapeño Pimento Cheese Biscuit,” USA Today 10Best said. “With breakfast platters and sides of grits, hash browns, or country gravy, plus indulgent sweet treats like their cheesecake stuffed waffle, it’s no wonder folks return again and again.”

Two other North Carolina-based chains made the list of best regional fast food restaurants, with Cook Out coming in at No. 9, and Bojangles rounding out the top 10.

The annual 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards are determined by readers’ votes. Initial selections came from travel experts choosing the top 20 nominees in a number of categories, including best art museum, best farmers market, best outdoor water park and more.

As of July 28, many 10Best categories are still pending, and results will be announced over the next few weeks. All categories, winners and pending winners can be found at 10best.com/awards/travel.
