$1 tickets hit jackpot in popular NC lottery game, but where are the winners?
Two $1 tickets hit the $1.5 million Carolina Cash 5 jackpot in Thursday’s nightly drawing, but where are the winners, and do they know they’ve won?
No one immediately claimed their split share of the jackpot at lottery headquarters in Raleigh, officials said Friday.
The players matched all of the white balls to each win $757,577, officials said on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter.
The winning numbers were 3, 6, 21, 30 and 43, according to the Cash 5 game page on NC Lottery.com.
The players beat odds of 1 in 962,598 in the popular game.
Someone bought the first winning ticket through Online Play, officials said.
The other ticket was sold at the Piggly Wiggly on Tatum Drive in New Bern, according to the lottery.
The jackpot grew over three weeks and 17 drawings, officials said.
“Nice win!” lottery officials said on X. “Don’t forget to check your tickets.”
