NC woman ‘cried and screamed’ on stop for gas. Her lottery ticket hit a top prize.
A North Carolina woman cried and screamed after she stopped for gas and bought a scratch-off ticket that scored a top prize, N.C. lottery officials said.
“I about had a heart attack,” Maiden resident Laura Bolch said when she claimed her $100,000 prize at lottery headquarters in Raleigh on Thursday, according to a lottery news release.
Bolch won the second-highest prize in the $30 ticket Black Titanium game, officials said.
She beat odds of 1 in 744,433, according to the Black Titanium page on www.nclottery.com.
Bolch, a restaurant manager, bought the ticket on Saturday at the Hop-In convenience store on Island Ford Road in Maiden, according to the lottery.
She immediately called her dad and husband and couldn’t stop crying and screaming as she delivered the good news, she said.
After taxes, she took home $71,509, and will pay off a car loan, officials said.
Black Titanium began in June with six $4 million prizes and 16 $100,000 prizes. Three $4 million prizes and six $100,000 prizes remain to be won, according to the lottery.
