A farmers market in Charlotte is one of the best in the South, Southern Living says
You can find a farmers market in just about every part of North Carolina, but one in Charlotte has been ranked among the best in the South.
Southern Living released a list of the 16 fan-favorite farmers markets in the region, offering seasonal fruits, veggies, locally-made treasures and more, including Charlotte’s very own Uptown Farmers Market.
“This relatively new organization was formed as a nonprofit in 2020 to address food access and community connection. Located in Charlotte Center City near the NASCAR Hall of Fame, it draws a broad swath of customers. They gather to shop from area growers and makers and take part in wellness initiatives such as on-site health evaluations and nutrition education,” the report says.
“Keep an eye out for family-run operations like Deep Roots CPS Farm, which has local honey as well as fruits and vegetables raised with regenerative practices. Evans Family Farm focuses on pasture-raised and grass-fed meats. For take-home sweets, don’t miss Milk Glass Pie, serving up a hyper seasonal menu of desserts.”
Located in the heart of the city center, the Uptown Farmers Market is is nestled in the 4.5 acre front parking lot of First Baptist Charlotte every Saturday through Dec. from 8 a.m.-12:30 p.m. with over 50 vendors offering fruits, vegetables, meats, baked goods, florals and more, including:
