Many LGBTQ+ communities are embracing a festive spirit with a range of inclusive holiday events across the state.

From drag shows and choral performances to family gatherings celebrating diverse identities, there’s something for everyone. These events not only provide a chance to celebrate the season, but also foster a sense of belonging and solidarity within the LGBTQ+ community.

If you’re looking for an LGBTQ-friendly event to attend this holiday season, here are some happening in North Carolina.

Gay Men’s Chorus of Charlotte Presents: JOY!

The Gay Men’s Chorus of Charlotte’s annual tribute to the holiday season will be filled with classic carols and plenty of giggles. Highlights include Dan Forrest’s Irish-inspired “Joy to the World” and Elaine Hagenberg’s original “O Come, Emmanuel.”

Jazzy Holidays with Triangle Pride Band

Enjoy a night of jazz to celebrate Christmas, Hanukkah, Chinese New Year and more — and be sure to bring your dancing shoes.

Asheville Drag Brunch Holiday Spectacular

At this drag brunch, you can expect high-energy lip-syncs, familiar holiday tunes and “a whole lot of fa-la-la-la fierceness.” The event is open to all ages. Proceeds will benefit Loving Food Resources, a local food pantry that provides food, health and personal care items to people in Western NC who are living with HIV/AIDS or who are in home hospice care, regardless of diagnosis.

Holiday Drag Show at The Glass Jug

This show promises to “sleigh the competition, as our fabulous drag queens and kings serve up a merry mix of holiday classics and over-the-top performances.” The Glass Jug will have festive brews, including Cranberry Cinnamon Pi sour and Chemistree Winter-spiced Scotch ale. This event is for people 18+.

  • Harmony Holiday Party

    This holiday party, hosted by Harmony: NC LGBT+ Allied Chamber of Commerce, is open to anyone 21+ and promises delicious food, a complimentary drink and the opportunity to meet new people in the LGBT+ community.

    Queer Holiday Mixer

    This is holiday mixer, open to women and those who identify as female, is a great opportunity to connect with fellow LGBTQ+ individuals and allies in a welcoming and inclusive environment.

    The Triangle Gay Men’s Chorus, a Raleigh-based nonprofit group offering men’s choral music, works to provide a safe place for LGBTQ+ people in the Triangle to pursue performance arts.

    Holiday Music on the Roof

    The Durham Hotel is hosting the Triangle Gay Men’s Chorus for a holiday performance on their heated rooftop. You can enjoy holiday cocktails and seasonal treats from our festive menu while enjoying this joyful celebration of the season.
