The mountains of North Carolina were being likened to a Hallmark Christmas movie after a winter storm dropped up to seven inches of snow.

Photos and videos of the aftermath quickly appeared social media, with many people crediting the storm with giving them some needed Christmas spirit.

“Today was like living in a snow globe!” Leslie Restivo of Boone wrote on Facebook. “The most beautiful snow! Everything covered, no wind and temps right below 32. It was a magical day, one of the best snow days in a very long time. Made it really feels like Christmastime!”

Here are some of the scenes shared on Facebook.
