Multi-vehicle crash in south Charlotte injures four, causes I-485 backup

Four people were seriously injured in car crash involving multiple vehicles Friday evening on Interstate 485 in south Charlotte, MEDIC said.

Nine people in six vehicles were involved in the crash, which occurred between Pineville Road and Park Road, MEDIC said. The crash occurred at 7:36 p.m., according to DriveNC.

DriveNC, which tracks traffic incidents and vehicle collisions, said the crash is causing a backup and that was projected to clear shortly after 9:30 p.m.

The website also said the crash occurred near mile marker 64 on the inner loop if I-485.
