Funeral set in SC for naked man fatally shot by police officer

A naked, unarmed man who was fatally shot by a suburban Atlanta police officer will be laid to rest in South Carolina.

Attorneys for the family of 27-year-old Anthony Hill say a viewing begins at 3 p.m. Saturday at Gethers Funeral Home in Moncks Corner, South Carolina – about 30 miles north of Charleston.

Hill was fatally shot by a DeKalb County, Georgia police officer responding to calls about a naked man acting erratically outside a suburban Atlanta apartment complex on Monday.

Hill’s girlfriend told The Associated Press that he was a U.S. Air Force veteran who had been diagnosed with bipolar disorder and stopped taking his medication.

The family’s attorney says Hill’s funeral is scheduled for 2 p.m. at the Berkeley High School auditorium, also in Moncks Corner.
