SC mom accused of pushing daughter, 12, into a door

A Sumter woman has been charged with cruelty to children after she allegedly pushed her 12-year-old daughter into a door, according to department spokesman Braden Bunch.

Deanna Kelley, 42, is accused of pushing her daughter into a door, which caused her to sustain minor injuries on her lower back, according to an arrest warrant.

The girl’s school notified the Department of Social Services (DSS) about marks on her back, according to a warrant.

The warrant alleges that Kelley pushed the girl in the stomach, which caused her to fall into the door, after she asked for money to attend a school dance.
