Brother of SC Lt. Governor McMaster charged with burglary

A brother of Lieutenant Governor Henry McMaster has been charged with burglary in connection to an incident in Forest Acres.

Joseph McMaster, 55, was arrested March 17 after he kicked a hole through the front door of a home on Hansen Avenue and told the home owner to walk outside, according to an incident report.

McMaster left the home before officers arrived, but he was later seen walking in the area, according to the report.

The report said McMaster admitted that he had kicked through a door at a house.

McMaster is also wanted in Richland County for numerous charges as well as in the state of Georgia, according to the report.

McMaster was taken to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
