A daughter called her mother in South Carolina to remind her to check her lottery tickets.

She wanted her mom to look at her Powerball tickets because she heard that someone who shops at the same convenience store as her mother in Anderson had just won $200,000.

“Yeah, me,” her mother joked on the phone, according to a Feb. 10 South Carolina Education Lottery news release.

Then, the woman checked her tickets.

“It is me,” she said when she called her daughter back, according to the release. “I was screaming.”

The woman, who remained anonymous, won $200,000 in a Jan. 21 drawing, the release says.

She almost didn’t go to the store the day she bought her tickets but decided to stop in for a soda.

“... Something told her to get a Powerball ticket, too,” the release says.

It did not specify how much the woman took home after taxes.

The woman plans on buying a house, the release says.

Anderson is about 115 miles northwest of Columbia.
