South Carolina man dies in emergency room after shooting, coroner says

A South Carolina man died early Wednesday morning after a shooting, the Greenwood County Coroner’s Office said.

Zanqurious Damil Hurley, a 27-year-old Greenwood resident, died in the emergency room of Self Regional Healthcare at 12:34 a.m., Coroner Sonny Cox said in a news release.

Cox called Hurley a homicide victim.

The coroner’s office was called to the hospital after Hurley died. He was shot in the upper body, according to the release.

An autopsy has been scheduled for later this week, Cox said.

Information about when and where the shooting happened was not available.

No other injuries were reported.

There was no word on a shooter, or shooters, or any motive for the gunfire.

No arrests have been reported by the Greenwood County Sheriff’s Office, which is investigating the shooting along with the coroner’s office.
